One of the strengths of our congregation is community service and church involvement. If you see a group or feel called to join any of the ministries below, please reach out to our church office for who to contact. We would love for you to join us in supporting our church and local community!
Trustees
Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month. They are in charge of church budgeting maintaining the church grounds and general building maintenance among other responsibilities.
Care Team
Our Care Team meets on the 4th Sunday of the month. They are a group of caring people who get together to send cards to those in our community who are sick, bereaved or are in need of encouragement. A handwritten card can be very uplifting to someone who isn't feeling well or is depressed.
Communication Team
This teams focus is on keeping the congregation informed through print and digital mediums, while promoting the church and events with the community.
Together in Life Team
The team coordinates and plans fellowship events such as Wednesday night dinners meal trains for the sick and other church sponsored events.
Caregivers Support Group
This group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, and is open to all members and non-members of UMUC. the group discusses difficulties as well as positive experiences while caring for a loved one who is suffering from Alzheimer's, cancer or any other illness that renders their loved one incapable of caring for themselves. The group also invites outside speakers to come and speak about topics related to caregiving for a loved one.
KITSS
Keeping in touch with College students and Military Persons meets seasonally throughout the year to prepare and send care packages to MUMC loved ones living far away.
Missions Team
On the second Monday of each month this group meets to plan all outreach and service activities. To include, but not limited to our Day of Service, Holiday Food Baskets, clothing and food drives, Guatemala trip and fundraising etc.
United Methodists Men's Group
Led by Gib Warnick, meets on the third Saturday of the month to eat breakfast and talk about faith.
Hands in Ministry
This ministry is part of the United Men's Group, who preform service activities for the church, such as the Winter Coat's Ministry and meet irregular to do woodworking projects.
Health Ministry
Led by Joyce Rhinehart and Dawn Reardon, they are available by appointment to discuss health related issues and seasonally provide flu shots and other vaccines on Sunday mornings.
Prayer Ministry
These meetings are held Monday mornings to pray for the intentions in the bulletin and those listed on the prayer sheet during the previous Sunday's services.
Heritage Circle
Our group of 55+ women who meet monthly for various fellowship activities and service projects.
Knitting and Crochet Group
Meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month to knit prayer shawls that are blessed and set out into the community.
