Rev. Andy McClain

PASTOR

Pastor Andy grew up in the Hudson Valley, north of New York City. He wrestled with God and landed at Drew Theological School for seminary.

Pastor Andy graduated Drew in 2005 and has been pastoring churches since 2006. He also is a certified Spiritual Director through the Shalem Institute of Spiritual Formation.

Pastor Andy lives in Rockville, Maryland, with his three children, and enjoys reading, listening to jazz and baseball (when the NY Mets are winning that is!).

Margaret Olsen

DIRECTOR OF FAITH FORMATION

Margaret Olsen is Director of Faith Formation (DFF). Her family has been members of MUMC since moving here from Alabama almost 30 years ago. She has been active at the preschool in various capacities since 1997 and has also served on various church committees. 

She has three adult children and is blessed to have four precious grandchildren; Liam, Lexi, Emily and Christopher.

As DFF at MUMC Margret oversees, with a lot of support, the Christian Education program, including Sunday School for children, adults, the nursery and children's special programs. She also provides support for various ministries in the church such as Adult Small Group Ministry, the Health Ministry, Sports Ministry and Vacation Bible School.

Margaret loves being part of so many vital ministries here at MUMC! She especially enjoys working with our children, and has felt called to this ministry ever since she was a teenager. The pure joy and love of God that your children have is truly a sign of how God's Love shines in all of us!

Cathy Dunn

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Cathy spent the last 25 years working in downtown Washington, D.C., as a Catering & Convention Service Manager.

Although she is originally from D.C., she currently resides in Damascus with her husband, Paul and their German Shepherd, Duke.

In conjunction with being our Office Administrator, Cathy also proudly serves the community as the EMS Lieutenant for the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department.

In her free time, you can find her hiking local trails at Sugarloaf or the Rachel Carson Conservancy. She also enjoys taking photographs of nature, historical monuments, and cars.

Susie Neufeld

CONTEMPORARY MUSIC DIRECTOR

Susie is the Music Director for our 9 a.m. Worship Service and other music events held at MUMC. She started this position at Montgomery in May of 2019.

She is a Jesus-Music lover! Imperfectly perfect. Daughter of the One True King. A child of God. Chosen and redeemed. Made for a purpose, on purpose, for His purpose. Loved by a God who says, she is worth it all.

She is addicted to serving Jesus through music and worship and is filled with a passion to bring others to Christ and show His love with her love of contemporary Christian music.

Susie lives in Mt Airy, Maryland, four children. She has been a member at MUMC for 14 years and has always participated in singing for Worship.

Susie and the praise team started "Friday's Jam Night" and enjoy running this event with the help of many, to offer a night of praise music, fellowship and above all FUN! She is excited to explore new avenues through music here at Montgomery

Carolyn Lamb Booth

ORGANIST AND CHANCEL CHOIR DIRECTOR

Carolyn is an organist, pianist, choir director, music educator, recitalist and clinician. A native of Washington, D.C., she earned Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in piano performance at Peabody Conservatory of Music and is an "ABD" (all but dissertation) in Historical Musicology from the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington.

Carolyn is active in the local American Guild of Organists chapters, the Organ Historical Society and Music Teachers National Association at the state and local levels. She resides in Gaithersburg where she lives with four cats and maintains a music studio. Carolyn will begin her sixtieth year of teaching piano this year.

Cynthia

DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRIES

Cynthia, our Youth Director, has had a passion for student ministry ever since she was part of it herself. In her position here at MUMC, she hopes to instill in the students a passion for Christ that is unquenchable through teaching them from the Bible. Some things Cynthia is focusing on with the students include faith foundations, how to grow in your spiritual walk, and how to share your faith with the people around you.
