- Care Team Ministry
Do you wish you could encourage people who are sick or are grieving but don’t know quite what to do? Come join the Care Team! We are a group of caring people who get together to send cards to those in our community who are sick, bereaved or are in need of encouragement.
We meet the 4th Sunday of the month at 10:15 a.m. in room B, next to the choir room. A handwritten card can be very uplifting to someone who isn’t feeling well or is depressed. Please join us and help us show the love of Jesus!
- United Methodist Men’s Breakfast
Attention all Men: Please plan to join the United Methodist Men’s Breakfast on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 7:37 am in the Fellowship Hall.
We usually finish by 9:00 so that you can get on with the day’s activities early. Dress is extremely casual. Please also invite another guy to join us for an awesome breakfast and great time of fellowship.

Our church treasures our Moms and all Mothers are invited “To Come to the Table” and join one of our two weekly Bible studies designed for our Moms. On Monday morning during the school year you are invited to join the class that coincides with our morning preschool classes at Montgomery Methodist Children’s Center, meeting from 9:30 – 11:30. During this study the church provides free childcare for all your little ones not enrolled in preschool.
Our other Mom’s Bible Study is held on Wednesday evenings in the church library and meets from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Childcare can be provided upon request. Both studies welcome Moms from all churches and faiths and our current classes include women from many different area churches. Our fall schedule will begin on Monday, September 10th for the AM study and Wednesday, September 12th for the PM study. For more information please contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 301-253-4460.
- Caregiver Support Group
Started in 2008, the group is open to members and non-members of Montgomery UMC.
The group discusses difficulties as well as positive experiences while caring for a loved one who is suffering from Alzheimer’s, cancer or any other illness that renders their loved one incapable of caring for themselves. Each member receives valuable feedback that is helpful to all in attendance. The group also invites outside speakers to come and speak about topics related to caregiving for a loved one.
If you have a family member or friend for whom you are a part-time or full-time caregiver, please plan on joining us. We would love to have you join us whether you want to participate or just listen to the helpful discussions that take place during each meeting!
